Owen replies when asked if Chelsea’s Courtois is better than Man United rival
The Liverpool legend believes Man United No1 David De Gea is a better goalkeeper than Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois

Michael Owen believes Manchester United shot stopper David De Gea is just ahead of Chelsea number one Thibaut Courtois in terms of the best goalkeepers in the world.
The Spain international was widely praised for his commanding performance in Manchester United’s 3-1 win against their bitter rivals Arsenal at The Emirates on Saturday evening.
De Gea equalled a Premier League record with an impressive 14 saves to help the Red Devils secure a potentially significant result in the Premier League title race.
Manchester United have the best defensive record in the Premier League this term having only conceded nine goals in 15 games in the English top flight.
Courtois, on the other hand, has let in 12 goals in 15 outings in the Premier League to help Chelsea remain within touching distance of second-placed Manchester United.
The Belgian goalkeeper has been linked with a move to La Liga champions Real Madrid, while los Blancos have made a number of attempts to sign De Gea.
Former Liverpool striker Owen claimed that De Gea is narrowly ahead of Courtois in terms of the best goalkeeper in the world.
“Considering his age, at only 25, to have his stats and to have played so many games for a goalkeeper shows what a mentality he has,” Owen told BT Sport.
“He’s got great attributes and he is one of the leading goalkeepers in the world. Is he the best? I still think De Gea, although the stats probably just favour Courtois.”
Manchester United will host Premier League leaders Manchester City in their next Premier League game at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
