Steven Gerrard believes Eden Hazard is more dangerous when Pedro Rodriguez and Willian are in the Chelsea team.

Blues manager Antonio Conte started Pedro and Willian at Huddersfield Town after the duo were on the bench for Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to West Ham United in the derby at the London Stadium.

Willian made two assists and scored one goal in Chelsea’s 3-1 victory at the promoted side as Pedro polished off three points with a clinical second-half strike.

Hazard produced some of his best form in the 2016-17 season with Pedro a regular in Conte’s starting line-up but the Spanish winger and Willian have found their opportunities limited this term.

The Chelsea number 10 struggled to have an impact on the derby at West Ham last weekend with only Alvaro Morata to support the 26-year-old attacker.

Former Liverpool captain Gerrard believes Hazard looks far more dangerous when Pedro and Willian are supporting the Chelsea talisman.

“You know what complimented even more was having Pedro and Willian running off him,” Gerrard told BT Sport.

“They were on the same wavelength. They like playing with each other. When he plays with Morata on his own, there is too much responsibility on him.

“I can understand against Atletico, but against West Ham, start all of them.”

Hazard scored 16 times and made five assists in Chelsea’s title-winning campaign under Conte last season.

The Belgian forward has won two Premier League titles, the Europa League and the League Cup during his spell at Chelsea.

Hazard moved to Chelsea from Lille in the 2012 summer transfer window.
