Jamie Redknapp makes interesting claim about Chelsea in title race

Jamie Redknapp has admitted that Chelsea would be his favourites if Manchester City weren’t involved in the title race.
The defending Premier League champions have struggled to keep pace with Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering Manchester City side in the 2017-18 season.
There is no doubt that Manchester City already look like one of the great Premier League teams following their 20-game unbeaten run and 18 successive top-flight victories.
The Citizens are sitting 16 points clear of third-placed Chelsea in the title race with 18 games to go.
Chelsea signed six players in the summer transfer window but Antonio Conte’s men have been unable to remain on Manchester City’s coattails.
The Blues are point adrift of Manchester United but the west London side have been in better form than the Red Devils aside from a surprise 1-0 loss to West Ham United.
Indeed, Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Brighton Hove and Albion on Boxing Day means the Blues have collected 31 points from their last 12 Premier League games.
Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Redknapp admitted that Chelsea would be his title favourites if Manchester City weren’t in the equation.
“If Man City weren’t so good, we would have a good title race and Chelsea would be my favourites,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“Man City are just so much better than anyone else. You have to factor in Chelsea are playing in the Champions League.”
Chelsea have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons under Jose Mourinho and then Conte.
