Jamie Redknapp: Chelsea right to sign Alvaro Morata instead of Man United star
The former Liverpool star believes Chelsea will be satisfied with their decision to sign Alvaro Morata after missing out on Romelu Lukaku

Jamie Redknapp believes Chelsea will be thrilled that the defending champions signed Alvaro Morata ahead of Romelu Lukaku.
The Premier League title holders were initially linked with a move to sign former striker Lukaku from Everton in the summer.
However, Manchester United managed to beat their title rivals to Lukaku’s signature in a £75m switch to force Antonio Conte to rethink his transfer plans.
Chelsea ended up signing Morata in a £58m deal from La Liga giants Real Madrid ahead of Diego Costa’s return to Atletico Madrid on loan.
Lukaku scored 10 times in nine games in all competition to outscore Morata in the opening two months of the Premier League season.
However, Morata has been more consistent than his Premier League rival and has scored one goal more than Lukaku in the English top flight.
The Spanish forward has also shown signs of a promising partnership with Chelsea number 10 Eden Hazard.
Lukaku, on the other hand, has only managed to find the net twice in their last 13 games in all competition.
Former Liverpool and Spurs midfielder Redknapp explained why Chelsea will be delighted with their decision to sign Morata ahead of Lukaku.
“In the summer they were looking at Romelu Lukaku and he perhaps wasn’t first choice,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“If you’re looking at it now and looking at how Lukaku’s done at United, I think they’ll be delighted with that move.
“Real Madrid have missed him. He’s taken a little bit of time. I’ve been so impressed with him lately.”
