Chelsea still ‘confident’ of making 22-year-old their third signing – report
Chelsea are still confident of making Tiemoue Bakayoko their third summer signing, say reports

Chelsea are still confident of signing Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco this summer, despite Paris Saint-Germain making a bid to sign Fabinho, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Chelsea’s pursuit of Bakayoko faced “threat” this week because Monaco were considering selling midfield partner Fabinho to PSG instead.
The same report states that PSG have tabled a £45m bid for Fabinho but that Monaco are not keen to sell to their domestic rivals.
However, the story says that Chelsea remain confident of signing Bakayoko this summer after having tracked him for a number of months.
The article claims that the deal has been on the brink of completion for almost a month and that Monaco are keen to get the deal done as soon as possible.
It is also claimed that Chelsea have still not agreed a fee with Monaco for the player, with the Blues’ latest offer £3m short of the French club’s asking price of £40m.
Chelsea are thought to be on the lookout for a number of key signings this summer as Antonio Conte prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season.
