Chelsea want to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton as their top summer transfer target, according to reports
Chelsea’s prime summer transfer target is Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Belgian forward is the Blues’ top summer target as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his attacking options at Stamford Bridge ahead of his side’s return to the Champions League.
The same story claims that a potential return to Stamford Bridge for Lukaku has been spoken about at Chelsea for “several months” and that talks are going on behind the scenes about a possible deal for the Belgian forward.
The article, however, claims that Lukaku could command a transfer fee of as much as £70m as Chelsea look to bring the forward back to Stamford Bridge, three years after he left to move to Goodison Park in a permanent deal.
Chelsea will be hoping to use the lure of Champions League football to attract Lukaku and other top targets to Stamford Bridge this summer.
