Charlie Nicholas rates Chelsea’s chances of signing Ross Barkley
The Arsenal legend plays down the chances of Chelsea signing Everton midfielder Ross Barkley in January

Charlie Nicholas has played down the chances of Chelsea signing Ross Barkley in the January transfer window.
The England international was heavily linked with a move to the defending Premier League champions in the summer.
Barkley passed a medical at the west London club in August but had a change of heart and opted to remain at Everton.
The 23-year-old has been sidelined throughout the season so far due to a serious hamstring problem.
Barkley will be a free agent at the end of the 2017-18 season unless Everton can agree to a new deal with their playmaker.
Former Arsenal midfielder Nicholas doesn’t see where Barkley will fit into the Chelsea team given their array of talent.
“The suggestion was he went to Chelsea last time and he wasn’t really interested,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.
“It tells its own story.
“You have to get that desire that says he can fit in there. He hasn’t learned the no10 properly yet. He’s not sure it’s him.
“Chelsea have Fabregas. Not for me. I don’t see that [Chelsea move].”
Chelsea won the Premier League title with two games to spare last term to finish seven points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.
The Blues signed six players in the summer transfer window to improve their squad depth ahead of the new season.
