Jamie Redknapp admits his surprise at Michy Batshuayi's lack of opportunities at Chelsea this season

Jamie Redknapp has admitted his surprise that Michy Batshuayi has not been given more of a chance to prove himself at Chelsea this season.
Antonio Conte opted not to start the Belgian striker against Everton on Saturday despite first-choice striker Alvaro Morata being unavailable due to suspension.
Conte only opted to bring Batshuayi on for the final 19 minutes at Goodison Park as Chelsea ended up playing out a frustrating goalless draw on Merseyside.
Batshuayi seems to be struggling to win over Conte at Chelsea, despite the forward being one of the Italian’s first signings at Stamford Bridge back in July 2016.
Indeed, Batshuayi has only started two of Chelsea’s 19 Premier League games so far this season.
And former Liverpool FC midfielder Redknpapp has admitted that he is not sure why Batshuayi has not been getting more of a chance to prove himself at Stamford Bridge this season.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Chelsea’s goalless draw on Saturday, Redknapp said: “Even if you find a back-up striker [to buy in January], at least play him.
“The manager obviously doesn’t fancy him [Batshuayi]. Listen, there may be reasons we don’t know about. He may not train very well. You have to show you’re willing.”
Batshuayi will be hoping to be involved for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action on Boxing Day with a home clash against Brighton.
The west London side finished top of the table last season but already find themselves 16 points behind leaders Manchester City.
