Alvaro Morata believes that he is at the right club to take forward his career after he signed for Chelsea this summer.

The 24-year-old became the Blues’ fourth signing of the summer last month when he opted to leave Real Madrid and join the Premier League champions.

Morata will be hoping to make his first Premier League start of the season when Chelsea play Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday afternoon after coming on as a substitute during the shock 3-2 loss to Burnley last weekend.

And the Spain international is convinced that he has what it takes to develop into a top player and win major honours at Chelsea.

Speaking in an interview with Chelsea magazine, Morata said: “I need to make an explosion in my career and I am at the perfect place, the perfect club to do that.

“I have all the things I need and if I can work hard, I can make good things happen.

“I have very big motivation, I always think like a winner and I want to win everything it is possible to win. Last season the team won the Premier League and now we can try to win it again, and maybe the Champions League.

“It is the perfect situation. I decided to play in the Premier League and I want to play in Antonio’s team. Now I need to work hard, score goals and play well for the team.

“There are very good players here and I think we can do something amazing. It is hard to leave Madrid but it is not so hard when you come to a club like Chelsea, with these players and with this coach.”

Chelsea have signed three other players along with Morata so far this summer, having tied up deals for Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

However, the west London side continue to be linked with a number of other players as Antonio Conte prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next month.

The Blues will learn their opponents in the Champions League group stage when the draw is made at the end of the month.
