Antonio Conte reveals news on Andreas Christensen at Chelsea
Antonio Conte delivers the latest news on Andreas Christensen after he missed Chelsea's clash with Brighton due to illness

Antonio Conte has revealed that Andreas Christensen missed Chelsea’s Boxing Day victory over Brighton due to sickness and has not confirmed when the defender will be back available again.
The Denmark central defender was not included in the matchday squad for the Blues as Chelsea secured a 2-0 victory in front of their home fans at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Alvaro Morata and Marcos Alonso.
Christensen has been earning plenty of praise for his strong performances for Chelsea in recent weeks after impressing Conte since his return from a two-year loan spell at German side Borussia Monchengladback.
However, the young defender missed Tuesday’s game due to illness and it is not yet clear whether he will be ready to feature for Chelsea against Stoke City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
Speaking at his post-match news conference on Tuesday, Conte said: “At the last moment, Andreas was sick and I had to find a solution with Gary Cahill in the middle [of the back three] for the first time.”
Chelsea’s win on Boxing Day left them in third place in the Premier League table as they try and keep themselves in the hunt for a top-four finish this season.
The west London club will take on Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League next year and they are bound to be linked with a host of players in the January transfer window.
