Pundit: 24-year-old is a throwback at Chelsea, he must be appreciated
Tony Cascarino heaps praise on Michy Batshuayi following his good form for Chelsea

Tony Cascarino has heaped praise on Michy Batshuayi and has claimed that he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves at Chelsea.
The 24-year-old again proved himself as a key player for Antonio Conte’s men this season when he came off the bench to score twice in Chelsea’s 4-2 victory over Watford in the Premier League last weekend.
Batshuayi has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Stamford Bridge since his move to Chelsea from Marseille last year but he has regularly come up with the goods when coming on as a substitute.
The striker netted the all important goal which clinched Chelsea the title when he came on as a substitute during the win over West Brom back in May.
There have been question marks about whether Batshuayi will be able to cut it as a regular starter in the Chelsea side.
However, Cascarino believes that the forward should be celebrated for what he has been doing so well in recent weeks.
Writing in his column for The Times, Cascarino said: “Batshuayi is a throwback to the days of the supersub.
“These days you rarely send a player on with any expectation that they are going to score.
“Batshuayi offers a genuine threat and he should be appreciated.”
Chelsea return to League Cup action on Wednesday night when they host Everton at Stamford Bridge looking to book their place in the quarter-finals.
