Antonio Conte admits that he's been delighted by Ethan Ampadu's application at Chelsea in recent weeks

Antonio Conte has admitted that he has been delighted by Ethan Ampadu’s work rate and dedication as he looks to fight for a place in the Chelsea first team.
The 17-year-old midfielder has been made to wait for chances to prove himself in the first team at Stamford Bridge this season and he has only played 10 minutes of Premier League football so far this term.
Ampadu is highly rated amongst Chelsea fans and supporters will be hoping to see him given more of a chance to prove himself in the coming weeks and months under Conte.
However, the Italian manager has clearly been happy with Ampadu’s progress this season as he singled him out for special praise before Chelsea’s clash with Bournemouth in the League Cup on Wednesday night.
Conte told his pre-match news conference: “These players are the future for Chelsea.
“Every day Ampadu is working with us and working hard.
“I must consider the young players, if they deserve to have this chance.”
Chelsea are now preparing for their Premier League clash against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday lunchtime.
The Blues head into that game in third place in the Premier League table and 14 points behind leaders Manchester City after 18 games of the new campaign.
Chelsea will take on Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League after the draw was made last week.
