Antonio Conte hints that he is prepared to use Eden Hazard in a central striking role for Chelsea

Antonio Conte has hinted that he is prepared to use Eden Hazard in a central striking role for Chelsea if needed.
The Belgian playmaker recently spoke of his desire to be deployed in a number 10 role rather than out wide on the wing for the west London side.
Hazard impressed when he featured just behind Alvaro Morata in Chelsea’s impressive 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last month.
Morata is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury and it remains to be seen when he will be back in action for the west London side, although Conte appeared to hint that he could feature against Roma in the Champions League next week.
And the Chelsea boss has revealed that he is prepared to deploy Hazard in a central striking role for the west London side.
Speaking at a news conference at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground on Friday, Conte said: “Don’t forget, as a striker I can also utilise Eden Hazard.
“Last season we played two games with Hazard as the number nine, with Willian and Pedro, and if I see a situation we are ready to do that again.”
Hazard will be expecting to feature when the Blues return to Champions League action on Wednesday night with a home clash against Italian side Roma.
The west London side are aiming to defend their Premier League title this season after their impressive triumph in Conte’s first campaign at the club last term.
