Alvaro Morata is no Diego Costa but Chelsea fans will love him, claims ex-midfielder
The ex-Spurs midfielder believes Alvaro Morata has plenty of qualities that Chelsea fans will grow to love

Jermaine Jenas is confident Chelsea fans will grow to love Alvaro Morata despite the summer signing lacking some of Diego Costa’s qualities.
The Spain international was signed in a £58m deal from La Liga giants Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
Morata has scored six times in seven games in the Premier League so far, including a hat-trick in a 4-0 win at Stoke City.
The Spanish forward has even scored in the Champions League with an equaliser in a 2-1 win against Atletico Madrid last month.
Morata was signed to replace Costa ahead of the Spain international’s return to Atletico Madrid last month following relentless speculation.
The controversial striker scored 20 goals in each of Chelsea’s title-winning season in 2015 and 2017 under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.
Costa’s aggressive and combative style earned him admirers as the Brazilian-born forward wasted no time adapting to the Premier League.
While Jenas doesn’t consider Morata to be in the same mould as Costa, the ex-Spurs midfielder is confident the Chelsea summer signing will be a success at Stamford Bridge.
“I’ve watched Morata. He is a handful,” Jenas told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“He’s not as blatant with it [aggression] as Costa. He throws his weight around. He is a big lad as well. He has some attributes the Chelsea fans are going to love.”
Chelsea will return to Premier League action with a home clash against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
