Jamie Redknapp believes Chelsea’s 4-2 win against Watford proves that the Blues squad are still behind Antonio Conte.

The defending champions have made a difficult start to the Premier League season following losses to Burnley, Manchester City and Crystal Palace to leave Chelsea nine points behind the leaders.

Indeed, Conte’s men were unable to get close to Manchester City as former Blues midfielder Kevin De Bruyne netted a second-half winner at Stamford Bridge last month.

Chelsea drew 3-3 with Italian side AS Roma in the Champions League last week after squandering a lead to allow the Serie A giants back into the European clash.

The Blues were trailing Watford at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon but goals from Michy Batshuayi and Pedro helped Chelsea to come from behind to secure a 4-2 win against the Hornets.

Former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp believes the Chelsea players are still behind their manager despite concerns about their performances in the 2017-18 season so far.

“Anyone thinking the players aren’t playing for Conte?” Redknapp told Sky Sports.

“Of course they are. They are right at it.”

Chelsea have won the Premier League in two of the past three seasons.

The Blues signed six players in the summer transfer window to improve their squad ahead of a return to the Champions League.

The west London side lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the FA Cup final last term.
