Chelsea close to fifth summer signing in £40m deal – report
Chelsea are closing in on a £40m deal to sign midfielder Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City, say reports

Chelsea are close to completing the signing of Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City in a £40m deal, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is claiming that the west London side are close to confirming the signing of the England international as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his midfield options at Stamford Bridge.
The same report says that the two clubs are currently in transfer negotiations as Chelsea look to wrap up a deal for the 27-year-old midfielder.
The Blues are thought to be on the lookout for midfield reinforcements this summer after they opted to sell Nemanja Matic to Manchester United this month.
Now, it appears that the west London side are close to being able to announce a deal for Drinkwater before the close of the transfer window next Thursday.
Chelsea are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Everton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as they look to make it back to back wins following their victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley last weekend.
The Blues have made four summer signings so far, after having tied up deals for Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata.
