Chelsea urged to ‘get rid’ of Brazilian in January transfer window
Ray Wilkins has claimed that Chelsea could cash in on David Luiz in the January transfer window

Ray Wilkins has suggested that Chelsea would be wise to cash-in on David Luiz in the January transfer window.
The Brazilian’s future has been a source of speculation in recent weeks after he appeared to dramatically fall down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge under Antonio Conte.
There have been reports of a falling out between the pair and Luiz has not featured for the Blues since 22 November, although he has also been struggling with a knee injury.
In the meantime, young Danish defender Andreas Christensen has been earning rave reviews for his performances in the Chelsea first team this season, with the 21-year-old having started 11 of the Blues’ 18 Premier League games this term.
And former Chelsea coach Wilkins has suggested that the west London club could cash in on Luiz in the January transfer window and place their faith in young defender Christensen.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, Wilkins said: “If Chelsea want to get some money for January, [they should] get rid of David Luiz and trust Andreas Christensen.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea are currently preparing for their Premier League trip to Everton on Saturday lunchtime as they look to climb the table.
The Blues secured their place in the semi-finals of the League Cup on Wednesday night thanks to a dramatic 2-1 win over Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.
