Didier Drogba attempted to rally the Chelsea squad on Twitter after Tuesday night’s resounding 3-0 loss at AS Roma.

The defending Premier League champions came from behind to rescue a 3-3 draw with the Serie A giants at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea had the chance to break the deadlock in Rome inside 20 seconds when Eden Hazard broke free on goal.

However, the hosts went up the other end of the pitch and Stephan El Shaarawy broke the deadlock with a sensation strike inside the opening minute.

The Italy international doubled the home side’s lead before half-time after El Shaarawy capitalised on some poor Chelsea defending at the Stadio Olimpico.

Former AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger endured a forgettable return to the Italian capital after his £34m summer move to Stamford Bridge.

Rudiger misjudged a through ball and Diego Perotti finished past Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to compound the visitors’ misery.

Chelsea will host title rivals Manchester United in their next Premier League game at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

And Blues legend Drogba sent a message to the Chelsea squad on Twitter in an attempt to rally his former club ahead of a crucial Premier League clash.

Drogba wrote on Twitter: “Never an easy place to play, but the result expected but we’re still in @ChelseaFC keep it up @Roma confirmed what I saw few weeks ago”

Chelsea have lost to Burnley, Manchester City, Crystal Palace and AS Roma in the 2017-18 campaign so far.
