Chelsea legend excited about ‘blossoming’ Hazard-Morata partnership
Pat Nevin talks up the growing understanding between Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata

Pat Nevin believes the blossoming partnership between Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata helped Chelsea to produce their best away performance in the Premier League this season.
The Spanish striker started in the Blues line-up despite showing some signs of ring rust since his return to the Chelsea team from a hamstring problem earlier this month.
Morata missed a flurry of chances at the Vitality Stadium before he combined with Hazard for the Belgian’s winner in the second half of a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth.
The Chelsea number 10 has shown signs of a promising partnership with Antonio Conte’s summer signing Morata after Hazard missed the start of the season with an ankle problem.
The west London side were comfortable winners against Bournemouth despite the narrow scoreline as Chelsea hoisted themselves back into the Premier League’s top four.
Former Chelsea winger Nevin was encouraged to see Hazard and Morata combine so effectively at Bournemouth.
“Maybe the single most important and heartening sign was that there was finally a little of that rare commodity, comfort, and quite a lot of control around the last two games,” Nevin told Chelsea’s website.
“The game against Bournemouth was the best team performance since the win away at Atletico Madrid. We basically bossed the entire game and vitally, the understanding between Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard was blossoming once more.”
Chelsea are looking to retain their Premier League title and win the top-flight crown for the third time in four seasons.
The defending champions will host bitter rivals Manchester United in their next Premier League game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
