Jamie Redknapp: Don’t underestimate importance of Chelsea win
The Liverpool legend talks up the significance of Chelsea's 4-2 victory over Watford in the Premier League last weekend

Jamie Redknapp believes Chelsea’s 4-2 win against Watford can help to transform the defending champions’ season.
The Blues welcomed the Hornets to Stamford Bridge looking to end a three-game winless run in all competitions.
Premier League leaders Manchester City were 1-0 winners at Stamford Bridge at the end of September thanks to Kevin De Bruyne’s second-half strike against his former club.
Chelsea suffered a surprise 2-1 loss to the Premier League’s basement club Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park earlier this month before squandered a leading position to draw 3-3 with Serie A giants AS Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Blues had to come from behind to beat Watford on Saturday as goals from Michy Batshuayi and Cesar Azpilicueta overturned a 2-1 deficit to secure three points in a 4-2 victory over Marco Silva’s side.
Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Redknapp believes Chelsea’s comeback win could have a big impact on their 2017-18 campaign.
“It’s huge for their confidence. It was a big result for Chelsea,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“Don’t underestimate how big a result this was for Chelsea. They needed this result.”
Chelsea signed six players in the summer transfer window to improve their squad depth, although the defending champions appear to be paying the price for missing out on some of their top targets.
The Blues have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons.
