Alan Pardew sends message to Chelsea fans about Marco Alonso

Alan Pardew believes that Chelsea have been lucky to have Marcos Alonso in such good form for them this season.

The Spanish full-back has been in superb form for the west London side this term since joining Chelsea from Fiorentina last summer.

Alonso has been a regular fixture in the Chelsea team this season and has scored five goals and made three assists in 28 Premier League games so far this term.

It looks as though Alonso will help Chelsea win the Premier League title in his first season at the west London club.

And Pardew has been extremely impressed by the impact that the 26-year-old has had since moving to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Pardew said: “Alonso was an inexperienced player. He has had an unbelievable season.

“I don’t think anyone assumed he could do that role as well as he has.”

Alonso will be expecting to feature for Chelsea when the Blues take on Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge in their next Premier League game on Monday night.

The Blues are currently four points clear at the top of the Premier League table after their 3-0 win at Everton on Sunday.
