Chelsea make surprise move for 28-year-old Bayern Munich star – report
Chelsea have made an initial enquiry into the availability of Germany defender Jerome Boateng, according to reports

Chelsea have made a “shock” move to try and sign Germany defender Jerome Boateng from Bayern Munich, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the west London side have identified the 28-year-old as a potential summer signing as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his defensive options ahead of his second season in charge at the club.
The same article claims that Chelsea have already made an initial enquiry to Bayern Munich about the defender’s availability this summer.
Chelsea boss Conte is said in the story to be “desperate” to strengthen his defensive options this summer and would see Boateng as a top quality addition, with Nathan Ake and John Terry set to leave Stamford Bridge.
The story claims that Chelsea have turned to Boateng after failing in their initial pursuits of both Leonardo Bonucci and Virgil van Dijk.
Chelsea continue to be linked with a host of players this summer, but the Blues are yet to confirm any new signings ahead of next season and their return to the Champions League.
