Michy Batshuayi will leave Chelsea in the January transfer window, according to Tony Cascarino.

The Belgian striker has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Stamford Bridge since his arrival at the club from French side Marseille in the summer of 2016.

Batshuayi has scored some important goals for the Blues, however, with the striker having come off the bench to net the all-important winner to clinch Chelsea the title against West Brom back in May.

The striker failed to score as Chelsea slumped to a disappointing 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Selhurst Park last weekend.

And former striker Cascarino believes that Batshuayi’s days at Chelsea are now numbered.

Cascarino is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard: “When you are at a club and they are tring to sign a 32-year-old, 6ft 4in striker [Fernando Llorente] who would make you the third-choice No.9, then it’s clear the manager doesn’t rate you.

“That’s the situation Batshuayi has found himself in at Chelsea. And even though Antonio Conte didn’t sign Fernando Llorente, he’s still trying to not play Batshuayi.

“Against Manchester City last month, Conte replaced the injure Alvaro Morata with Willian after 35 minutes, then when they were chasing a goal against Crystal Palace he subbed Batshuayi on 57 minutes.

“How many arrows can be fired into his back? Conte clearly doesn’t rate him and that rubs off on the fans, who think he’s not good enough.

“It’s clear that his future lies elsewhere and I think he will leave the club in January.”

Batshuayi will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Champions League action on Wednesday night with a home clash against Roma at Stamford Bridge.

The west London side head into the game looking to get back to winning ways after the disappointment of their loss to Palace at the weekend.

However, Antonio Conte’s men have been in good form in Europe so far this season, winning both of their opening Champions League group games.
