Victor Moses has admitted that he has been hugely impressed by Marcos Alonso’s top form in front of goal for Chelsea this season.

The Spanish wing-back has again been a regular fixture in the first team for the Blues this season as he continued his fine form from his first campaign at the club last term.

Alonso has been in particularly good form in front of goal, with the Spaniard having scored five goals and made one assist in 21 Premier League games so far this term.

And his fellow wing-back Moses admits that he has some work to do in trying to catch up with his in-form team-mate in terms of goals scored.

Speaking to Chelsea’s website, Moses said: “Marcos is banging them in, I missed a few games but that is not an excuse and we have still got a lot of games to go this season, and I will try to hopefully catch Marcos up.

“I will try to do my best and we will see what happens but I am delighted for Marcos, he is doing very well and scoring goals and helping the team as well.”

Both Moses and Alonso will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action with a crunch clash against Arsenal at The Emirates on Wednesday night.

The Blues’ win over Stoke City on Saturday lifted Antonio Conte’s men up into second place in the Premier League table.

Chelsea are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming days as the January transfer window draws ever nearer.
