Chelsea star: Pedro has been amazing, he’s so important for us

Cesar Azpilicueta has heaped praise on Pedro Rodriguez following the Spaniard’s impressive form for Chelsea this season.

The Spain international has been brilliant for the Blues this term and has helped Antonio Conte’s men establish themselves as the firm favourites to win the title this season.

Pedro struggled to make much of an impact at Chelsea in his first season at the club last term but has proved himself as an invaluable part of the set-up this term.

And his fellow Spain team-mate Azpilicueta has been absolutely delighted by Pedro’s sparkling form for the Blues so far this season.

Speaking to Chelsea’s website, Azpilicueta said: “Pedro has been amazing.

“He scores goals and creates assists and he is playing very well with movement. When he is around the box he can always score, with right or with left foot – this is an important player for us.

“He recovered his place in the national team after the Euros so that means he is doing really well for us. The way he plays is always really intense.”

Chelsea are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League table as they chase the title in Conte’s first season in charge at the club.

The Blues are also hoping to win the FA Cup, after reaching the semi-finals, where they will face Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley at the end of the month.
