Chelsea ready to make late bid to sign proven Premier League striker – report
Chelsea are pondering making a late bid to try and sign striker Fernando Llorente from Swansea, say reports
Chelsea are pondering making a late bid to try and sign striker Fernando Llorente from Swansea City this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Blues are thinking of making a bid to try and bring the forward to Stamford Bridge as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his attacking options before the close of the transfer window at the end of the month.
The same report says that Llorente is a “leading target” for the Chelsea manager and that the Blues are poised to make a £15m bid to try and bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Llorente knows Conte well, having played under the Italian manager during their time together at Juventus.
The same story says that Chelsea tried, and failed, to sign Llorente from Swansea City back in January, but that the south Wales club are now “braced” for another approach from the Blues.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will be able to force through a deal before the close of the transfer window on Thursday.
The Blues are currently preparing to take on Everton in their next Premier League game at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon as they look to win their first home game of the season.
