Petr Cech has urged Chelsea to put the disappointment of squandering what would have been a vital victory at Liverpool behind them and focus on their Europa League semi-final.

The Blues were 2-1 up at Anfield on Sunday until Luis Suárez netted a 97th-minute equaliser to deny Rafael Benítez’s men three points.

Chelsea travel to Basel for the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday and the goalkeeper insists the west Londoners have no time to dwell on Sunday’s disappointment.

“We are in a position where we are fighting for everything,” Cech said.

“There’s a lot of pressure in the Europa League because we want to win it and we are in the semi-finals.

“Every league game we have to fight for the top four and it’s very tight, so there is pressure, and you have to find time to relax and make sure you are mentally fresh for the next game.

“We had a disappointing end to this game but we have another massive game to come on Thursday so we must forget about this one and concentrate on the next match.”
