Chelsea to wrap up first summer signing after star snubs Arsenal – report
Chelsea are closing on the signing of Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko, who turned down a move to Arsenal, say reports in France
Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko after the midfielder settled on a transfer to Stamford Bridge despite holding talks with Arsenal, according to reports in France.
France Football are reporting that the midfielder has decided on a transfer to Chelsea despite the player having held personal talks with Arsene Wenger about a possible move to Arsenal.
Chelsea are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new players this summer as Antonio Conte prepares his squad for a return to the Champions League next season.
Bakayoko has been one of the names touted as a possible target for the west London club this summer and he appears to be close to securing a move to Stamford Bridge this summer, if the latest reports in France are to be believed.
The same report claims that Wenger held talks with Bakayoko in a Paris hotel in November but was unable to convince him to move to The Emirates.
