Jamie Redknapp is backing Tottenham Hotspur to beat Chelsea in their Premier League clash at Wembley on Sunday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will host the Premier League champions in their first game at Wembley since temporarily relocating to the home of English football.
The Lilywhites were impressive 2-0 winners against 10-man Newcastle United at St James’ Park last weekend thanks to goals from Dele Alli and Ben Davies.
Chelsea, on the other hand, suffered a demoralising 3-2 loss to Burnley in their Premier League opener at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
The Blues will be without Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas for the London derby after the pair were sent off during the five-goal thriller.
Tottenham were 2-0 winners against Chelsea in their most-recent Premier League meeting thanks to Alli’s impressive double.
However, Chelsea secured a 4-2 victory over Spurs in the FA Cup semi-final back in April in their last clash at Wembley.
Former Liverpool and Spurs midfielder Redknapp is backing Tottenham Hotspur to beat Chelsea in the Premier League clash.
“I fancy Spurs and I’ll be surprised if they don’t win this game,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“They beat Chelsea last year with two Dele Alli headers and I look at the midfield area and wonder how Chelsea can compete.
“Matic and N’Golo Kante was the perfect balance but that’s gone and Tiemoue Bakayoko has had injury problems for a while now, going back to his time at Monaco.
“Christian Eriksen caused them a lot of problems at White Hart Lane and Spurs as a team have caused Chelsea more problems than anyone else over the last 12 months.
The Blues finished seven points clear of Tottenham in the Premier League title race last season to win the top-flight crown in Antonio Conte’s first season in charge.
