Chelsea lining up bid to sign 26-year-old Brazilian in January – report
Chelsea are still keen on making a move to sign Alex Sandro from Juventus in the January transfer window, say reports
Chelsea are pondering a fresh move to try and sign Alex Sandro from Juventus in the January transfer window, according to reports in Italy.
Italian website Calciomercato, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the Blues are keen to reignite their interest in landing the 26-year-old full-back after missing out on the Brazilian in the summer transfer window.
The same report claims that Juve are aware of Chelsea’s interest in Sandro and are keen to get the left-back to sign a new deal to keep him in Turin.
However, it is also claimed that Chelsea are ready to make a new £62.4m bid for Sandro as Antonio Conte looks to try and bolster his options at wing-back in the mid-season transfer window.
Chelsea were heavily linked with a move for Sandro throughout the summer but couldn’t come to an agreement with Juventus, as the Blues ended up signing Davide Zappacosta from Torino on transfer deadline day.
However, it is claimed in the same report that Conte remains keen on Sandro and that the west London side could make a fresh attempt to try and sign him in the new year.
Meanwhile, Conte is currently preparing his Chelsea side for their trip to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
