Insider reveals Antonio Conte ‘obsessed’ with Chelsea signing striker
Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol claims Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is obsessed with signing a new striker

Antonio Conte is obsessed with the idea of Chelsea signing a target man, according to Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
The defending Premier League champions are in the market to sign a striker to provide cover for summer signing Alvaro Morata, who has struggled with confidence and form in recent weeks.
The Chelsea centre-forward has failed to score in his last five appearances in all competitions following some errant performances from the 24-year-old striker in the League Cup and the Premier League.
The Premier League title holders have been linked with a move to sign West Ham United striker Andy Carroll in recent days after the Blues missed out on the chance to sign Fernando Llorente last summer.
Former Liverpool record signing Carroll has struggled with injuries throughout his Premier League career and the Hammers striker has scored two goals in 12 appearances in the English top flight.
Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol has confirmed that Conte is desperate to sign a proven target man to bolster his attacking options at the west London side.
“Conte is obsessed with getting an old fashioned target man,” Solhekol told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“He tried to sign Llorente in the summer. Now he wants Carroll. They are interested in signing Carroll from West Ham. My information suggests West Ham are bemused Chelsea are trying to get him on the cheap.
“West Ham are prepared to do a deal because of his injury record and his wages. At the moment, they would prefer to do a permanent transfer. West Ham value him a lot higher than Chelsea at the moment.”
Chelsea have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons under Jose Mourinho and then Antonio Conte.
