Antonio Conte kept a close eye on Tiemoue Bakayoko's performances for Monaco last season as he closes in on a switch to Chelsea

Antonio Conte closely studied Tiemoue Bakayoko last season as he identified him as one of Chelsea’s top transfer targets this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is claiming that Conte kept a close eye on the 22-year-old France star throughout last term and watched his performances for Monaco on a regular basis.
Bakayoko has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer as Conte looks to bolster his midfield options at Stamford Bridge.
However, the same article states that Chelsea are yet to agree a fee with Monaco, with £35m likely to be the “starting point” of negotiations.
Bakayoko scored two goals and made one assist in 32 Ligue 1 appearances for Chelsea last season.
Chelsea have been linked with a host of players this summer bit the west London side are yet to officially confirm the signing of any new players.
Conte will be keen to bolster his squad as he prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season following their Premier League title triumph last term.
