Chelsea table £52.5m bid to make 25-year-old their first summer signing – report
Chelsea have had a £52.5m (€60m) bid for defender Kalidou Koulibaly rejected by Napolo, say reports
Chelsea have made a £52.5m bid to sign defender Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, according to reports in Italy.
Italian website Tuttomercatoweb is reporting that the Blues have tabled a big-money bid to try and lure the defender to Stamford Bridge this summer – but Napoli do not want to sell the 25-year-old.
Koulibaly will be a name familiar to Chelsea fans after he was linked with a transfer to west London last summer before the Blues eventually ended up re-signing David Luiz from Paris Saint-Germain.
However, with John Terry having left the club at the end of last season, the Blues are on the lookout for defensive reinforcements and have reportedly reignited their interest in Koulibaly.
The Italian outlet claims that Napoli have rejected a bid of £52.5m (€60m) for the defender.
Chelsea are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as the Blues prepare for a return to the Champions League next season.
However, despite all of the speculation, the west London side are still yet to officially confirm any deals for new players.
