Chelsea are willing to spend a club-record £60m transfer fee on Juventus defender Alex Sandro this summer, according to reports in England.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Premier League champions are prepared to stump up a record fee to finally land the Brazil international following weeks of speculation.

The same article states that Chelsea engaged in fresh talks with Serie A holders Juventus about signing Sandro on Monday as Antonio Conte looks to add the left-back to his squad.

The Chelsea boss is thought to be keen to bolster his left-back options ahead of a return to the Champions League next season after relying heavily on Marcos Alonso last season.

The Premier League champions switched to a 3-5-2 formation in September and the tactical change paid dividends as the blues went on a run of 13 successive victories.

However, Chelsea will have a far tough fixture schedule next return given their qualification for the Champions League.

The Blues missed out on the chance to win the double in their first season under Conte after a 2-1 loss to bitter rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup final.
