Insider claims Chelsea still want 26-year-old Brazilian star despite failing with ‘important bid’
Chelsea are still in the hunt to sign Juventus left-back Alex Sandro this summer, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano

Chelsea are maintaining their interest in signing Alex Sandro despite Juventus rebuffing an “important bid” from the English champions, according to reports in Italy.
Serie A reporter Fabrizio Romano is claiming on Twitter that Juventus general director Giuseppe Marrotta has confirmed the Serie A champions turned down an offer from Chelsea.
However, the Italian journalist added that the Premier League side are still hoping to sign the Brazil international in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is thought to be keen to improve his full-back options ahead of his second season in charge at the west London club.
The Sky Sport Italy and Guardian journalist took to Twitter to shed light on the current situation involving Chelsea, Juventus and Sandro.
Romano wrote: “Juventus refused an ‘important bid’ from Chelsea for Alex Sandro, confirmed by Marotta. But #CFC are still trying for him. 🇧🇷 #transfers”
Chelsea are still waiting to land their first signing of the 2017 summer transfer window despite being linked with a host of players so far.
The west London side finished as Premier League champions in Conte’s first campaign in English football.
Chelsea won the title with two games to spare and finished seven points clear of their closest title challengers Tottenham Hotspur.
