Journalist reveals Chelsea haven’t given up on signing top 26-year-old defender
Chelsea are still hoping to sign Juventus defender Alex Sandro, according to Serie A expert David Amoyal

Chelsea are still hoping to sign Alex Sandro despite Juventus rejecting their initial offer for the left-back, according to David Amoyal.
The ESPN reporter has revealed that the Premier League champions are still hopeful of concluding a deal to sign the 26-year-old this summer.
Chelsea were thought to have made a significant offer to sign the South American defender in the summer transfer window.
However, the Serie A champions rejected the bid despite being open to selling Sandro should Juventus receive an acceptable offer.
ESPN journalist Amoyal has shed light on Chelsea’s continued pursuit of the left-back.
“The Blues haven’t given up on signing the Brazilian left-back even after their first bid was rejected, a fact confirmed by Juventus’ executive director Beppe Marotta recently but since then Paris Saint-Germain have also joined the race,” Amoyal wrote on ESPN.
“As we have seen with Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba, the current Serie A champions are willing to sell a star if the player pushes for the move and they receive an adequate offer.
“Chelsea are expected to make a new bid while Juventus could bring back Leonardo Spinazzola from his loan at Atalanta to replace him.”
Chelsea are still waiting to land their first signing of what has been a frustrating 2017 summer transfer window.
Manager Antonio Conte is thought to be keen to improve his full-back options given the west London side’s reliance on Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses last season.
The Premier League champions lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the FA Cup final to miss out on a unique double in their first season under Conte.
