Chelsea have offered Juventus defender Alex Sandro a deal worth £150,000 a week, according to reports in the English media.

The Evening Standard is reporting that the Premier League champions are ready to make the Brazil international one of the best-paid players at Stamford Bridge.

The same article states that Serie A holders Juventus are unable to match Chelsea’s proposed pay packet for the talented wing-back.

Sandro is being widely-tipped to become the most-expensive defender in the world as the Blues close in on a £61m deal to sign the South American this summer.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is thought to be keen to improve his defensive options ahead of a return to the Champions League next season.

The Blues boss is still waiting to land his first summer signing in what has been a frustrating transfer window for the Italian so far.

Conte led Chelsea to the Premier League title in his first season in charge in the English top flight after finishing seven points clear of closest rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The Blues lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley last month.
