Serie A expert Palmeri has taken to social media to reveal that Chelsea are readying an €80m (£70m) offer to sign the out-of-favour Real Madrid striker this summer.
Palmeri posted the following update on Twitter:
“Chelsea had contacts along whole weekend with Real Madrid for Morata. Preparing 80m€ bid.”
Chelsea won the Premier League title in their first season under Conte after Costa scored 20 times in 35 games in the English top flight last term.
The west London side lost 2-1 to bitter rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
