Chelsea are looking to sign Germany defender Antonio Rudiger from AS Roma in the summer, according to reports

Chelsea have made a €38m offer to sign AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger, according to reports in Italy.
Sky Sport Italia, as quoted by Football Italia, is reporting that the Premier League champions have submitted an initial €33m plus a further €5m in add-ons to sign the Germany international in the summer transfer window.
The same article is claiming that Rudiger was taken off the summer transfer market but Roma’s failure to offload Greece international Kostas Manolas to Russian side Zenit St Petersburg last month.
According to reports in Italy, the Premier League champions’ offer would be a fee that the Serie A runners-up would consider for the promising German defender.
Rudiger made two assists in 27 appearances in Serie A last season to establish himself as a key part of the Roma defence.
The centre-half has scored two goals in 72 appearances in two seasons in the Italian capital after Rudiger made the move from Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart.
The talented German prospect has made 16 appearances for Joachim Low’s national team.
