Antonio Conte could sign Brazil defender if Chelsea offer wage incentive – report
Chelsea could sign Dani Alves if the Premier League champions surpass the defender's current deal at Juventus, according to reports
Chelsea could sign Dani Alves from Juventus this summer if the Premier League champions can beat his current contract with the Serie A giants, according to reports.
ESPN FC reporter David Amoyal is claiming that Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign former Barcelona and Sevilla defender Alves in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Alves hasn’t settled in Serie A despite being a key member of Massimiliano Allegri’s team that reached the Champions League final.
Antonio Conte is thought to be keen to bolster his full-back options in the summer transfer window given the success of his 3-4-3 formation.
Chelsea relied heavily on Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses but the duo will need support next term given the west London side’s return to the Champions League.
Writing in his ESPN FC column about Alves’ potential move to Chelsea, Amoyal explained what the Premier League champions need to do to complete a deal.
“After struggling to adapt to life in Serie A, the former Barcelona wing-back was a key player in Juventus’ run to the Champions League final, but following just one season he could be leaving Turin,” Amoyal said.
“An intermediary has offered Alves to Chelsea recently, and a deal could happen should the Brazil international receive a substantial raise compared to what he has left on the last year of his deal with Juventus.”
Chelsea won the Premier League title in their first season under Conte’s management.
