Agent tells Chelsea how much Napoli defender will cost
Chelsea target Kalidou Koulibaly has an agreement with Napoli about his transfer fee this summer, according to his agent
Kalidou Koulibaly has reached an agreement with Napoli about his transfer fee in the event of interest from other clubs this summer, according to his agent.
Itasportpress quotes a report from Premium Sport as saying that Koulibaly could leave the Serie A club for €60m (£52m) this summer.
Chelsea fans will remember that the Premier League champions were heavily linked with a move to sign Koulibaly last summer but a deal failed to materialise.
Antonio Conte is thought to be a big admirer of the Senegal international but the Chelsea boss ended up signing David Luiz in a £32m deal from Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
However, the Italian coach will be on the lookout for another centre-half this summer after legendary captain John Terry called time on his Stamford Bridge career last month.
And Koulibaly’s agent has informed Chelsea and other potential suitors that Napoli want £52m for their impressive African centre-half.
“Koulibaly? The transfer maket is long as it will be open until August 31st, something might happen before then,” his agent told MondoNapoli via Itasportpress.
“Chelsea? They are a world class team that many players would like to join but I don’t want to talk about this now.”
Koulibaly scored two goals in 28 Serie A appearances for Napoli in the 2016-17 campaign.
Chelsea finished as Premier League champions in their first season under Conte.
The Blues lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
