Giorgio Chiellini is optimistic that Leonardo Bonucci will remain at Juventus despite interest from Chelsea.

The Blues are thought to be interested in bringing the Italy international to the Premier League in the summer transfer window.

Bonucci has established himself as a key member of the Juventus team after Chelsea boss Antonio Conte signed the defender during his spell in charge in Turin.

The 30-year-old has won six Serie A titles and finished as a Champions League runner-up twice since his move from Bari in 2011.

Bonucci has forged an impressive centre-half partnership with Chiellini for club and country.

Chiellini is confident that Bonucci will still be a Juventus player at the start of the 2017-18 season despite Chelsea’s interest.

“I’ll bet anything you want on Leo staying at Juve,” Chiellini is quoted as saying by Tuttosport.

“We can’t deprive ourselves of a player like him. I’m certain he’s still going to be one of the pillars of Juve.”

Chelsea won the Premier League title in their first season under Conte after the Italian coach replaced Guus Hiddink last summer.

The Blues missed out on the chance to win the double after a 2-1 loss to bitter rivals Arsenal at Wembley in the FA Cup final.
