Leonardo Bonucci won’t be swapping Juventus for Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to Serie A expert David Amoyal.

The Italy defender has been regularly linked with a potential move to Stamford Bridge over the past 12 months after Antonio Conte’s appointment as manager at the west London club.

Bonucci was brought to Juventus from Bari during Conte’s spell in charge of the Serie A giants and the centre-half won three top-flight titles under the Blues boss’ spell in charge.

The Italian defender played a big role in Juventus’ run to the Champions League final last season as the Turin side conceded just three goals in the competition before a 4-1 loss to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the showpiece in Cardiff.

Chelsea manager Conte is thought to be on the lookout to sign a new defender after long-serving captain John Terry called time on his Stamford Bridge career at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.

However, Serie A expert Amoyal has ruled out Conte re-signing Bonucci from Juventus to bolster his Chelsea defence this summer.

“An ambiguous post on Instagram in which the Italian defender used the past tense when talking about Juventus and manager Massimiliano Allegri’s recent extension – Bonucci clashed with Allegri a few months ago – has restarted the rumours about a transfer to Chelsea,” Amoyal told ESPN FC.

“But at the moment there’s no indication Bonucci wants to leave Juventus.

“The Serie A champions would consider selling him only if he pushed for a move, and the loss in the Champions League final likely makes him feel there’s unfinished business for him with the Bianconeri.”
