Marco Verratti’s agent opens up about midfielder’s future amid Chelsea link
Marco Verratti's agent opens up his client's future at PSG amid interest in the midfielder from Chelsea and Juventus
Marco Verratti’s agent has offered Chelsea hope in the race to sign the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder this summer.
The Italy international has been linked with a potential move to the Premier League champions in the summer transfer window.
However, Chelsea will face competition from Serie A giants Juventus as the Italian midfielder weighs up his future in the French capital.
Antonio Conte is bound to be linked with a host of players this summer ahead of Chelsea’s return to the Champions League next term.
The 53-year-old manager coached Verratti during his two-year spell in charge of the Italian national team.
Speaking to Tuttosport about Verratti’s future at Parc des Princes ahead of the 2017-18 season, Verratti’s agent Donato Di Campli said:
“Juventus will certainly do something special in the next transfer window,” Di Campli told Tuttosport. “Verratti? There is the will of PSG to keep him at all costs.
“Now it is clear – money is not enough. Appeal is also needed and in the last four or five years, the French club have not done enough to improve in that regard.
“Juventus are much more attractive because champions are attracted to winning teams.”
Chelsea appointed Conte as their manager last summer after the west London side limped to a tenth-place finish.
The Blues won the Premier League title with two games to spare thanks to a 1-0 win against West Brom.
Chelsea lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
