Chelsea are monitoring Genoa starlet Pietro Pellegri as Antonio Conte looks to bring the teenager to England, according to reports.

Italian media outlet Secolo XIX, as quoted by the Sun, is reporting that the Premier League champions are hoping to sign the 16-year-old striker.

The same article suggests that Pellegri could be suited to the Premier League given his physicality and size standing at 6ft 3ins.

The teenager became the youngest player to score two goals in Serie A after Pellegri scored two goals in a 3-2 loss to Serie A outfit Lazio.

The Italian striker’s father is Genona’s assistant manager and was spotted in tears on the bench following his son’s sensational double.

Pellegri is the joint youngest-ever player to feature in Serie A after making his debut at the age of 15 years and 280 days, he equalled the record of Amedeo Amadei.

The Genoa striker became the first player born in 2001 to score in Serie A when Pellegri netted an away goal at AS Roma back in May.

Chelsea signed six players in the summer transfer window after the Blues won the Premier League title with two games to spare.

The west London side will make the trip to Stoke City in their next Premier League game on Saturday afternoon.
