Chelsea and Liverpool will rival each other for the signing of Porto midfielder Ruben Neves, according to reports in the Portuguese media.

A Bola, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that both Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in the promising 20-year-old midfielder in the summer transfer window.

The same article states that Porto are facing a losing battle to keep Neves after the Portuguese side sold Andre Silva to Italian giants AC Milan in a £35m deal earlier this summer.

According to the report in the Portuguese media outlet, Neves is most likely to move to the Premier League amid interest from bitter rivals Chelsea and Liverpool.

Neves has a contract which runs with Porto until 2019 and the Portuguese club are thought to value the versatile midfielder at around £30m.

Chelsea won the Premier League title in their first season under Antonio Conte after the Italian was appointed as Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor last summer.
