Craig Burley has emphatically ruled out the possibility of Chelsea signing Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich this summer.
Chelsea are in the market for a top striker after Antonio Conte informed Diego Costa that he was free to leave the Premier League champions in the summer transfer window.
The west London side have been heavily linked with a move to sign Belgium international Romelu Lukaku since the conclusion of the Premier League season.
However, the Toffees are reported to be demanding £100m for a player that Chelsea sold to the Merseyside outfit in a £27m deal less than three season ago.
Bayern and Poland striker Lewandowski has emerged as a surprise target for the Blues over the past couple of the days in what would be a major coup.
Asked during a segment on ESPN FC about whether Chelsea would sign Lewandowski this summer, the ex-Blues defender bluntly replied: “No.”
Chelsea won the Premier League title in Conte’s first season in charge at Stamford Bridge, although the Blues lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the FA Cup final.
