Chelsea are confident of completing deals to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko and Romelu Lukaku this summer, but the Premier League champions are hoping to make a total of six signings, according to reports in the England media.
The Evening Standard is reporting that Chelsea are thought to be closing in on deals to sign Monaco defensive midfielder Bakayoko and Everton striker Lukaku as the title holders look to improve their squad ahead of a return to the Champions League next term.
The same article is stating that Chelsea have already agreed a deal with former Manchester City shot stopper Willy Cabellero after the goalkeeper was released by the Citizens earlier this month.
According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea are also keen to sign Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk but Southampton don’t want to consider selling the Netherlands international this summer.
The Blues are also reportedly interested in signing Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci and are now looking at Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez after Napoli winger Dries Mertens signed a new deal with the Italian club.
