Chelsea are negotiating personal terms with Tiemoue Bakayoko but will pay a £35.1m fee for the Monaco midfielder, according to reports in England.

The Evening Standard is reporting that the Premier League champions have agreed upon a transfer fee in the region of £35.1m with Monaco for the defensive midfielder.

The same article states that Chelsea are still in discussions with the Ligue 1 winner about his personal terms as the west London side look to complete their first summer signing.

According to the story, the 22-year-old will sign a five-year deal with the English champions but the Frenchman wants a significant increase on his current wage of £22,000 a week.

Bakayoko is rumoured to have flown to London earlier this week to thrash out the details of his contract with the FA Cup finalists ahead of a big-money move to the Premier League.

The holding midfielder was a key of the Monaco team that won the Ligue 1 title ahead of Paris Saint-Germain last season and made it to the Champions League semi-finals before losing to Juventus over two legs.
