Chelsea are finally set to confirm their first signing of the summer at the start of next month, according to reports
Chelsea have already completed their first summer signing – but don’t plan to announce it until 1 July, according to reports in the British media.
The Evening Standard is reporting that the Blues have agreed terms with the “mystery” player but both parties have decided to delay confirmation until the start of next month.
Chelsea have been linked with a huge number of players over the last few weeks but the Blues are yet to announce any new signings.
The same article claims that Chelsea are planning to make a total of six new signings this summer as Antonio Conte prepares for his second season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea would not confirm the identity of the new arrival but our best guess is that it is Argentine goalkeeper Willy Caballero, who has been linked with a move to west London after he was released by Manchester City at the end of last season.
The same story claims that Chelsea could still bring the announcement of the signing forward but at present, it won’t be confirmed until 1 July.
Chelsea are believed to be on the lookout for a number of nee signings as Conte prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season.
